Nice to meet you!

Hey there, I'm Evan Allison. I am making the shift from a career in photography to the vibrant world of UX design. My journey is fueled by a passion for visual design and a genuine love for creating art that serves a purpose in people's daily routines.

Visual Storytelling In UX Design and Photography

UX design and photography are are both ways to tell a story that communicates ideas through visual design. UX tells a story through wireframes, layouts, and elements, while photography uses light, composition, and framing. At the core, both are about using visual elements to have a conversation with the users about how to think, feel, and understand what you need them to.

What I’ve Learned

My experience as a photographer has taught me the importance of context and perspective in storytelling. Every image carries a narrative shaped by its surroundings, cultural influences, and the viewer's own experiences. Similarly, in UX design, I consider the broader context in which the interface exists, including user expectations, industry trends, and technological constraints. By understanding the users, I can tailor the visual storytelling elements to resonate with their unique needs and preferences, creating meaningful and memorable experiences that leave a lasting impression.
